I’m an award-winning digital communicator with years of experience creating written content, speaking publicly on culture and policy, and establishing reciprocal partnerships.
During my time as co-chair of New York City’s Young Women’s Initiative the initiative developed over 80policy, cultural, and programmatic recommendations for the City of New York to better understand how it could meet the needs of young women and girls. This was the first initiative in the country that addressed the needs of young women and girls of color. The work culminated in New York City pledging $10 million dollars to address the recommendations and the launch of The National Philanthropic Collaborative of Young Women’s Initiatives.
The Founder of TeenMomNYC.com I worked with political influencers at the federal and state level to develop and implement informative campaigns and programming to address the unique needs of young pregnant and parenting young people. Some of my thought partners include The National Women’s Law Center and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.
As a co-founder of NoTeenShame.org I used digital media tools to educate policymakers, healthcare professionals, and educational institutions on ways to reduce harmful messages, practices, and policies which negatively impacted the lives of pregnant and parenting young people.
I’m honored to have received the Spirit of Service Award from Healthy Teen Network and Leadership Awards from Concordia and The New York Women’s Foundation.
